November Adventure Day 1 (Singapore) 1-11-2015. Flights and Food.

Hello everyone long time no posting. I know, I know. I should probably get on top of this posting thing. Now don't get me wrong, I love the jacaranda tress (like the ones in the photo above) but they happen to bloom around exam season, which is a stressful time for all students. Myself included. Now I have finally (mostly) managed to get myself organsised and have resurfaced from under the mounds of school work. I have decided to take a very last minute trip to Asia with my parents and grandmother. So I will be blogging (whenever I have internet) this exciting adventure for all of November as we travel through Singapore, Vietnam and Cambodia. Now that, that summary is over here is the very first day of what I'm sure will be a very enriching and exciting trip.

Today started earlier than I would have liked. But that isn't unusual. I have decided after 20 years of sleeping (Often more than 12 hours a day) I could probably just sleep indefinitely, if it wasn't for needing to eat and participate in the other responsibilities that come with being a (relatively) productive member of society.

After dragging myself out of bed and a sleepy car trip later we were at the airport for breakfast before our flight. I had a tomato and cheese toasted sandwich, which was lovely. Another fun fact about me. I could probably live off toasted sandwiches and never get tired of them. So I eat them often and enjoy them thoroughly.

After doing the usual and very tedious airport things like checking bags, filling in paperwork and trying not to get lost. We were nearly ready to board the plane. Now I would like to take a moments break in the story to appreciate this beautiful picture of my lovely parents. Whom without I would not have such a beautiful life. It's even more special because they are not my biological parents and I was very lucky to be adopted into this family with such amazing, caring and kind parents who have not only raised me and supported me through all 20 years of my life but they have also taken me with them on this very special trip that will hopefully help to get me away from all the stresses of everyday life.

Now with that note aside back on with the story of today. So we boarded the plane and to be honest I was very nervous about flying and had been feeling unwell because of it for the past couple of days. But thanks to the Valium, sleep and my beautiful family (and also probably the pilot) the plane ride was mercifully calm.

I slept most of the way but I also got into some colouring and partially completed a crossword with my grandmother and mother.

So we arrived safely in Singapore. I was fairly hot but definitely bearable. We made our way to our hotel and by then I really needed a shower. So after a relax and some freshening up we ventured back out from the cool air-conditioned hotel room and onto the streets of Singapore in search for some dinner.

The streets of Singapore are crowded and pavements are very uneven. But there is beautiful culture and interesting shops along the streets. Especially interesting since we are actually staying in the red light district.

We found yummy food. That was also vegetarian, which some of you may know is actually quite difficult overseas. But we had some plates and shared them around and after we were all fed and watered we made our way back to the hotel to crash after a very long day.

Back at the hotel I had tea and a doughnut for a snack before bed. Then it was light out and everyone went to bed. I stayed up blogging of course, much the the annoyance of everyone else. So I better finish this off quickly and get some shut eye for another big day tomorrow with another flight to catch and another country to visit.

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed the beginning of my travel blog. Come back and visit again soon as I will post as often as I have internet.
I hope you all enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing.
Bye for now.
