November Adventure Day 14, 15 & 16 Kings Palace, Relaxing day and Our last day in Phnom Penh

Hello again, did you all miss me, cause I missed you guys, long time no blogging because where we have been staying has had some dodgy ( to put it nicely) internet. So that is my pretty lame and ordinary excuse. Would have been a much better excuse if I was too busy travelling and exploring the world to have time for the internet. But truth be told, the internet gods just do not seem to shine down on me.
So now I am really far behind on posting and will be posting a lot in the next few days so that I can finish writing about my holiday before the holiday is over. So stay tuned and check in more often so that you can see all the fun things I have been up too.
So after that long introduction, I'd like to welcome you all back to my travel blog series.

Another day in the bustling and busy city of Phnom Penh. Today we made it to the king's palace, we had planned to go there the first day here, but as you may remember, when we got there it was closed for lunch and then we took an unplanned yet great detour, which in the end worked out well.

The palace was built in 1860 and has been home to all the kings of Cambodia since that time. Today's king, Norodom Sihamoni currently lives in this palace, so there are many rooms that tourists are unable to enter and the few rooms that you can enter you are not able to take photographs in, in order to remain respectful, as it is someones home.  However we did get to wonder around the beautiful grounds, which are characterized by lovely traditional Khmer design. It was a beautiful building and although the day was hot and tiring, the palace was beautiful. So here are some of the shots I took around the palace grounds.

This is known as the throne room and you are actually able to enter this part of the palace.

After our time spent wondering the palace we ventured back to our room for the cool air-con and a lovely swim and lunch.

Then a much deserved and beautiful afternoon nap.

Then we ventured off to a market, don't remember where it was, or what it was called. But me and my grandmother bought paintings off this girl and her family, I foolishly didn't take a photos before they wrapped it all up safe and sound for our flights, but I am sure you will see it in some upcoming blogs I have planned.

So this was the end of day 14, just our usual dinner, card games and bed.

Day 15 was a very, very relaxed and quiet day, because with all the heat from yesterday, I really needed some downtime. A lovely guy that worked at the hotel recommend that we go to a big new mall called Aeon mall. It was a nice place to wander around in the air-conditioning, so that's what we did.

There were some cute little shops, very modern and clean, this little shop sold cute little macaroons, so it was just to adorable not to take a photo of, I thought.

The place we stopped for a drink and a snack, had teddy bears hanging from the ceiling. I treated myself to an Oreo frappe and my parents dried a durian pudding. But as the smell of durian is enough to put someone off for life, I wasn't feeling up to the challenge.

After a day of wondering around the mall and an afternoon of sleeping and lounging around in the comfort of our room we went to our favorite dumpling place that we had been nearly every night.

Then of course more sleeping.

Today was our last day in the city of Phnom Penh, I had another sleep-in. Because, well, it's the holidays and I feel like that's reason enough. When we checked out of our room at 12 we then had a very long day roaming the city before a night bus at 11:30pm that was to take us to Siem Reap.

I had the most beautiful brunch, I think it was my favorite of the holiday and I am totally going to re-create it when I get home. Poached eggs and spinach on toast with fried potato, mushrooms and tomatoes. It was really yum.

So after this we had a lot of time to kill, so we took off the the museum. Now just like the kings palace you weren't aloud to take photographs inside, but I did take photos of the beautiful grounds.

After the museum we spent time wondering the river side and looking at the bustling life of the people, playing games, working and we even saw an aerobics class. So here is my compilation of photos that I took in saying goodbye to Phenom Penh.

I have been very surprised by how lovely people are and how willing they are when I ask to take their photographs. Many people, myself included often shy away from the camera, but the people overseas seem to be much more willing, which is awesome.

When it got too late to take any photos of people without blinding them with the flash, we headed back to the hotel for the last time to collect our luggage and head to the bus station. I got to say goodbye, to a friend that I had made at the hotel.

And the rest of our night was spent at the bus station, trying to entertain ourselves as best as possible, while we waited for the bus. Then we slept on the bus. Everyone else thought it was too bumpy, or too cold, or too uncomfortable in some way or another. But I slept soundly, because I have a talent for sleeping even in the most uncomfortable of situations.

So here is the rest of my blog in Phnom Penh. The city was great, the people lovely and now we are onto the Siem Reap part of my holiday.
As always thank you guys so much for reading. I especially want to make a shout out to all the international viewers I have gained since embarking on this journey. It is so rewarding to see people of all background and cultures enjoying my content.
Until next time, as always, much love.
