18-03-2016 & 19-03-2016 A Weekend of Family, Escape Rooms and I'm Adopted (Part 1)

Heya guys!

This is a post from a long while back, before all my computer issues and my absence. But I decided to post it anyway, because that's what this blog is all about, documenting so I have something to look back on and love.
So most of this is old news, but because it is such a short post. I have posted another post at the same time as a part two to this one. So make sure you check that one out afterwards. So without further ado, lets just rewind to 18-03-2016.

This weekend was all about family, family, family! Which I am all about, so I had a blast. My parents came up to Brisbane to visit me and my brother, on the Friday (which is the start of the weekend if you ask me)

We ended up eating at a cute little burger place called Ben's Burgers, in Fortitude Valley. My only complaint is that there are no vegan options, which is a darn shame because the burgers there are like a tiny slice of heaven. I would highly recommend it to all of my fellow burger lovers!

Seeing my parents is always a treat, I have been treasuring it a lot more lately, since my mother just got diagnosed with cancer, before anyone starts freaking out, it's not terminal, it's early and my mum is really healthy, so when she gets her operation (which she will have already had by the time I post this) she should be good to go, after what I'm sure will be a  tedious healing time. But she is surrounded by people who lover her and she has all the support from me as well as our other family and her beautiful friends, she'll be fine, she's a trooper. But I'll be sending love a prayers her way for a long while yet.

This Friday was short and sweet, after a little bite to eat and some grocery shopping with the family. It was homeward bound for Mum and Dad.

This is the (sort of) Part one of my adoption story, because this is the day that ignited the idea and because this is a shorter than usual post. I thought it would be a good chance to do a part 2 where I talk about my experience with adoption.

On this particular day Nick and I drove to the Gold Coast to see my biological mother. This is a rare thing for me, but always nice. Also she has never before been featured on my blog so this is a first. I honestly didn't take many photos, because we ended up mostly eating and chatting, but we did get to do an escape room. Which we got out of in time! (Woo! Go us)




The escape room was really fun! In all honesty though, we needed a couple of hints. But we got on a role towards the end and we cracked the mystery! I will definitely be doing more of these. So thanks to Lou, for introducing me to them. Seeing Louise is always fun. we a really similar in a lot of strange ways (crazy genetics, right?)

After the escape room we spent some more time catching up and then it was time for me and Nick to go home. The end to an awesome day.

An awesome weekend! I am sorry it to me so long to blog it though. But here we are, finally! I hope you enjoyed it. It was a little short and sweet, but I have made a Part 2 about adoption to make up for it! Hopefully see you all in Part 2!
